Four killed in a massive fire in Hazratganj hotel

A massive fire broke out at Hotel Levana Suites located on Madan Mohan Malviya Marg of Hazratganj in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on Monday morning. The entire three-storey hotel came under fire. Smoke filled every room in the hotel. Guests were sleeping inside the rooms at the time of the accident. Most of the people ran outside as soon as the fire started. Four people died of suffocation in the accident. These 16 people were injured. Those who were admitted to the civil hospital for treatment. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached the Civil Hospital as soon as he got the information about the accident. There he interacted with the injured and gave instructions for relief work. On the other hand, Principal Secretary Home Sanjay Prasad constituted a joint committee of Divisional Commissioner Dr. Roshan Jacob and Police Commissioner SB Shirdkar and ordered an inquiry in the afternoon. As soon as the order was received, the Divisional Commissioner issued a notice to the concerned departments and summoned a reply. Police have started the action by registering a case in the incident.

A fire broke out at Hotel Levana Suites on Madan Mohan Malviya Marg around 7.45 am on Monday. There were 18 booked in 30 rooms of the hotel during the accident. It has confirmed the stay of 30 passengers. Police, Fire Department, SDRF, and NDRF reached the information of the accident and started relief work. During the relief work that lasted for about seven hours, 26 people were evacuated. All were sent to the district hospital. Where the death of four was confirmed due to suffocation. All those who died were residents of Lucknow. These include Gurnoor Anand, resident of Ganeshganj Sarai Phatak in Naka, his fiancee Sahib Kaur, Aman Ghazi alias Bobby, son of builder Irfan Ghazi of Khurramnagar, and Shravika Sant alias Chia, resident of Indiranagar Sector-17. The deceased Gurnoor and Sahib were to get married in January. He had come to the hotel on Sunday night to attend a family function. The party went on till late at night, due to which we stayed in the hotel itself.

Ansh Kaushik, Kamini, Delhi's Mona, Shravan Kumar, Rajkumar, Chandresh Yadav, Anand Upadhyay, Pradeep Maurya, Rohit Yadav, Bacchu Lal, Shiv Babu, Ravi Patel, Pramod Mishra, Ganesh Maurya, Dinesh Maurya, and Kamala Prasad are involved in the accident.

List of people trapped in the hotel
The administration released the list of employees and passengers at the time of the accident in Hotel Levana. In which Mona, Ansh Kaushik, Kamini, Chandresh, Anand Upadhyay, Pradeep Maurya, Anuj Goyal, Abhishek Shukla, Abhishek Shukla, Ankit Vishal, Imran Jahan, Shreya Tiwari, Shikhar, Praveen Gupta, Farheen Ansari, Shivam Awasthi, Sandeep Tyagi, Ishan Srivastava, Mohit Agarwal, PB Singh, Mehak Verma, and Shakib Khan. While Naina Tiwari staying in room number 314 of the hotel, Ujjwal Mishra staying in room number 206 is missing. Both of these have not been traced. According to the police, the mobile is coming off.

Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister reached the hospital and talked to the injured
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached the Civil Hospital as soon as he got the information about the accident. After reaching there, talked to all the injured about the accident and their treatment. He directed the CMO not to be negligent in the treatment of all the injured. He also questioned the CMO about the entire treatment system. After some time, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak also went to the Civil Hospital. He also got complete information related to the treatment. After this, Hotel Levana reached the accident site. There the officials were instructed to speed up the relief work and bring out the people trapped inside.

Chief Minister ordered an inquiry
On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Home Department constituted an inquiry committee as soon as the death of four people was confirmed due to the fire in the hotel. Police Commissioner SB Shirdkar and Divisional Commissioner Roshan Jacob were included in the committee. He gave clear instructions that whoever is responsible for this accident. Strict action will be taken against him. At the same time, within an hour of the formation of the committee, Divisional Commissioner Roshan Jacob sought answers from the Fire Department and Lucknow Development Authority on three points. Late in the evening, DIG Fire Akash Kulhari was also included in the investigation committee.

Owner and GM interrogated in police custody
People were evacuated after the accident. As soon as the inquiry committee was constituted. Immediately the police also swung into action. The police took hotel owners Rohit Agarwal, Rahul Agarwal, and GM Sanjay Srivastava into custody. According to Joint Commissioner of Police Law and Order Piyush Mordia, all three are being questioned. At the same time, a case has been registered against the unknown by the police.
