Forcibly pressurizing a girl of another religion for marriage, a case registered under the anti-conversion act

The Karnataka Police on Wednesday booked a man under the new 'Anti-Conversion Act' for allegedly wooing a girl of another religion in Mandya district's Nagamangala town.
The youth, identified as Yunash Pasha, is accused of taking objectionable pictures of the girl and harassing her for marriage. The man has been booked under the new 'Anti-Conversion Act' and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
Accused of mixing drugs in food
A 13-year-old girl and her family told the police that the accused made them drink sambhar mixed with sleeping pills in Nagamangala town of Mandya. According to the police, on November 12 and 13, after seeing his daughter under stress, her father lodged a complaint on November 18. However, the girl also admitted that the accused man sexually assaulted her on November 11 when they were at their grandmother's house. He further said that he used to talk to her continuously and had earlier also sent her a mobile phone and SIM card. More details are awaited on the matter.
