Tata Group Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran has said that clean and green energy is bound to change and India is well positioned to lead it. He further added that technological progress has already been made and the effort to make the clean energy transition more affordable should continue.
Addressing the students at the convocation ceremony of Pandit Deendayal Energy University in Ahmedabad, Chandrasekaran said, "The pressure to shift to green/renewable energy will increase in times to come and the shift to clean energy is bound to happen." But we need more and more new and cleaner energy so that it is more affordable. We need hydrogen-based energy, electric batteries, storage systems, industrial waste reuse technology, etc.
All these will happen in our lifetime but we need to ensure that these solutions are more cost-effective, he said. Chandrasekaran said that the progress that is being made in the field of technology is wonderful and it will be faster in the coming times. Appreciating the country's progress on the renewable energy front, he said that we are at the cusp of a new transformation and India is moving towards spectacular development not only economically but in many other areas.
